These are two of our favorite buyers that always came to our sales with smiles and love. We appreciate all of you and thank you for being apart of our company.
It is with a heavy heart that I notify you of the death of our beloved Main Jail Chaplain John Gatlin. John was on vacation with his family when he unexpectedly passed away yesterday. I find comfort in knowing he was with his family when he passed away, since family was a huge part of his life.
I would be remiss though, if I did not mention his other passion and first love, which was ministering those around him and sharing the gospel, including those incarcerated in our jails. He was fulfilling a calling by being a chaplain and always hoped those he ministered to would have changed lives. He loved those he worked with and around, and that love was rooted in his love for God.His compassion, kindness, gentleness, and faithfulness all came from that life focus.
John gave over 20 years to our agency serving in the chaplain role. He will be missed tremendously. As a reminder (and John would want me to mention this), we have a chaplain group, peer support and employee assistance that can all be utilized by any of us who need a listening ear for a hurting heart.
As I receive more information I will pass it along to you.
